Drive-In Movie OOTD

Hi everyone! One of my favorite things to do on date night is go to a movie. But what’s better than going to a normal theater for a show? A drive-in movie! I went to my first drive-in movie last night and I fell in love with them. It felt so old timey and like we were back in the 60’s. Tickets were only $9 a person and they had three movies playing at one time. We saw the movie Sully, which is doubt a pilot who landed his plane in the Hudson River. It was such an amazing movie and it was so fun watching it from the car on a clear night. They will even play movies on a not so clear night, even if it is raining. But for us, it was the perfect night after a gorgeous sunset. I’ll add some bonus photos of the drive-in below, but this post is actually going to be an OOTD. If any of you can go to a drive in movie, I have the perfect outfit for you here! Keep reading to check it out!

I’m so glad I’m finally getting a chance to sit down and write about this OOTD. A lot of people loved it on Instagram, you can see the post here, so I’m happy I can go into depth about it.

IMG_1783.jpg

This outfit was created specifically for this jacket. I got it at Nordstrom but you can get an almost identical one at Windsor. Bomber jackets like these have been so in style right now and I absolutely love it! Some stores like Forever 21 have even been selling them in a beautiful blush color that is equally as cute. It’s slightly cropped and the material can be compared to a light suede (if that makes sense). It’ll keep you warm with the long sleeves but if it’s a warmer night, you an simply scrunch up the sleeves for a more casual look.

PicMonkey Collage-6.jpg

IMG_1780.jpg

IMG_1782.jpg

I love how the jacket gives an edgy vibe. I love pairing edgy pieces with more feminine ones, so I knew this light pick t-shirt would work well with it. I got this shirt a while ago from H&M. The shorts also paired well with the black accents of the jacket. They’re very torn and worn so it adds to that element of edginess. I believe I got these shorts at Lamb and Flag years ago. I’m not sure those stores are around still but black denim shorts would work as well.

PicMonkey Collage-6 copy.jpg

IMG_1768.jpg

For accessories, I wore these suede boots in a beige/gray color. It has a pointed toe and a V cut on the side. I absolutely love the cut of this boot and it went perfectly with the outfit (I bought them from Tilly’s). Black boots would have worked well too, but I wanted to change it up a bit! As you can see in other photos above, I also wore a classic black choker with my layered beige necklace from Nordstrom. I also wore my sunglasses from Nasty Gal that I am LOVING right now. I believe they were only $20. This was a steal since everything from Nasty Gal is pretty pricey.

This was such a fun date night and the movie was amazing! I definitely recommend both of them and I hope you love the outfit I put together!

Last but not least, today is 9/11 and I don’t think I should post without mentioning a day that is so significant in my country’s history. We remember what happened that day 15 years ago in 2001 and are thankful to those who risked their lives to save others. They are truly heroes. Even though I was only going into my first week of kindergarten and don’t remember it at the exact moment it was happening, it’s something that stands out every year. God bless<3

Back to School in Style OOTD!

Hello, lovelies! It’s that time of year again, back to school! I hope you’ve been enjoying some of my dorm hauls, my room is really coming together so far! Since I am in my first week of school along with so many other students around the world, I thought a back to school OOTD would be perfect. So let’s jump right on in with this easy to wear look!

PicMonkey Collage-6 copy.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-5.jpg

For back to school outfits, I usually like to go pretty casual yet still looking put together. A simple blouse with some jeans is a great way to go, so that’s what I did here! This gridded collared shirt is from Boohoo.com and I have to say I was very impressed with the site when I received my order! The products I wanted fit like a glove and were very flattering! This is pretty hard to come by from an online store, but I HIGHLY recommend Boohoo with their great fit and affordable prices. I’m in love with this top right now, even though it is more of a very dark blue instead of a black that I was expecting. I have been looking for a shirt like this for so long and I’m so happy this one worked out from Boohoo!

VSCO Cam-1-1.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-6.jpg

I paired it with a pair of ripped up boyfriend jeans, a choker, and a cute black hat to accessorize. I got both the jeans and the choker a while ago from Melrose in the O.C., a small boutique. The hat I bought from Urban Outfitters. I really think the accessories made the outfit more stylized and so adorable! I also put some waves in my hair to make it more feminine and cute for school. Rolling up the sleeves of the blouse also helps to edge it up a bit and give it some flare.

VSCO Cam-1-7.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-8.jpg

Lastly, one of my absolute favorite parts of this look is the shoes! These black ankle boots are also from Boohoo.com. You can get black ankle boots from so many places, but what makes these so unique and expensive looking is the small gold trim at the heel. The gold also goes across the heel by the arch, so its a small detail that really makes a big difference. Detailing is probably one of the most important things for an accessory, so I really appreciated that. Not to mention, these shoes are impeccably made and fit me! Again, a risky move on my part for ordering shoes online, but again I totally recommend Boohoo because every single thing I ordered fit! These shoes are definitely affordable as well, even though they look pretty high end.

As for makeup, I went for a very simple wing with dark brown eyeliner and a nude liquid matte lipstick from Anastasia Beverly Hills!

This outfit was SO comfy to wear, which makes it perfect for school! I know I would 100% wear this to class and I’m excited to that. I hope you guys enjoyed this OOTD as always and let me know what you think of it or if you’ve ordered from Boohoo before! Have a fantastic rest of your week, loves! ❤

Talkative Tuesday: Cruelty Free Makeup Brands

Hello babes! For this week’s Talkative Tuesday, I want to discuss something that may benefit not only you, but the planet as well. I’ve made a couple posts about my vegetarianism, and I’m still going strong with it! I transitioned from pescatarian to vegetarian and even though it’s bee hard at times, I’ve stuck with it! You can read more about my journey here and here if you like! If you’d like me to go more into detail about my vegetarianism journey, feel free to comment below! Anyways, this post will be going off of those ideas. Veganism is something I’ve been learning more and more about during the past 6 months and it’s really been causing me to think differently.

A big part of veganism, apart from not eating meat or dairy products, is not buying any products that cause harm to animals or are made from animal products. So many women love makeup and use it as an expression of themselves. However, so many companies are not vegan friendly, meaning they test on animals, causing them harm.

During my first year of college, our writing class required us to create a 15 page research paper. My topic I chose was animal cruelty. As expected, it was a ton of work and a lot of it wasn’t so fun. But I can say that I actually learned so much from my research. It is so heartbreaking what happens to these animals during tests and is 100% inhumane. We as humans are higher beings than animals, but that doesn’t mean we should take advantage of this fact. I believe that God put on this earth to care for the animals, not harm them to better our own lives. Every person can have their own opinion on this topic, but I thought I’d share a little snippet of my own.

Personally I have not transitioned to cruelty free products yet, but I would love to do so! If you share this opinion and want to start using only cruelty free products, I found a long list online that I want to share with you all! There are SO MANY cruelty free companies, so I think the best way to show you is in this photo below. This list is from crueltyfreekitty.com!

Screen Shot 2016-08-18 at 3.54.14 PM.png

Screen Shot 2016-08-18 at 3.50.32 PM.png

I’m stoked that this website has such a long list of cruelty free products. I personally use Too Faced, Anastasia Beverly Hills, ColourPop, and more and I can say these products are just as nice as, for example, MAC who is not a cruelty free makeup brand. I hope this Talkative Tuesday sparked your interest or helped inform you more about this cause! ❤

U.S. Open of Surfing 2016!

Hey everyone! As a native of Southern California, there are a few summer activities that are a must for us. I personally only started going to this a few summers ago, but it’s a huge event that thousands attend every year! The U.S. Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach is filled with sand, surf, skating, and TONS of sun. This year was no different so I thought I’d share a few photos with those of you who don’t live close enough to attend or even if you haven’t heard much about it before!

VSCO Cam-1-18.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-16.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-17.jpg

This was during one of the surf competitions. We went on the day that all of the junior athletes were competing, so all of the surfers and skaters were surprisingly young. Usually older competitors will be there, but I have to say these kids were absolutely amazing and so talented! You can watch these surf competitions from the sand or from the pier (I recommend the pier!) These particular photos were taken on the Huntington Beach pier.

VSCO Cam-1-15.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-14.jpg

They have a lot of different booths for different activities, but it’s even fun to just walk around in the sand! One of my favorites is the art tent. This is great for younger kids, but I love the giant letters they put in front of it. It looked so unique and totally artsy!

You can also get some Vans U.S. Open merch at the store which is in the middle of all these events. From hats, to sweatshirts, to t-shirts, and even Vans shoes, they have it all!

VSCO Cam-1-19.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-22.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-23.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-21.jpg

One of the most fun things to watch at the U.S. Open is the skating competitions. There are about six skaters for each round who get about 45 seconds to skate and receive points for each trick. Each skater gets a few 45 second heats to showcase their best skills and climb to the top. Whoever has the most points by the end of the round wins! I was obsessed with the graffiti that was done in the bowls. It was a great example of street art done right. They were truly pieces of art.

This is such a great summer activity to go to with friends. If you’re in the area next summer, definitely check it out. It is in Huntington Beach for a little over a week before it ends, so you have some time to figure out which day you want to go! I also hope you enjoyed the photos, they were all taken with a Nikon D5500, with exception to the very first photo which was taken on an iPhone. Hope you all have a lovely weekend! 🙂

Beach Glam OOTD!

Hi loves! Time for another OOTD, yay! I’m so excited to show you this Beach Glam outfit, especially because of the location. This is one of the best places to go for a gorgeous view of the harbor and of the ocean around sunset. The trails are small and there are many areas of it to explore. I thought the natural brush and sunset would make for a gorgeous OOTD for you all, so let’s get right to it!

VSCO Cam-1-20.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-21.jpg

Here are a couple quick pictures of where we decided to shoot. Absolutely stunning (and I wish I lived in that house with that breathtaking view!)

VSCO Cam-1-12.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-18.jpg

So you guys have seen these shorts before in a previous post, you can check that out here. They are a part of a set that also comes with a top in the same blue palm tree print! But I decided to switch things up a bit and make it more of an evening outfit. I paired them with this adorable blush sweater that I recently bought from PacSun. (I’m so sad they’re going out of business, so I’m trying to get as much stuff from them as I can!)

Image.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-16.jpg

The sweater is super light and even though it was fairly warm today, I wasn’t overheated. The best thing about it though, is the cutouts at the shoulder. It gives that laid back vibe and looks like it’s slouching off your shoulders. This piece is longer in the back than in the front. It gives it a more flowy effect when you move around and is a nice cut. So cute and easy to wear!

VSCO Cam-1-17.jpg

I decided to wear a black bralette from Urban Outfitters underneath it so I wouldn’t have a plain bra strap showing. I think it added a nice little detail and matched with the shoes well. These shoes area absolutely amazing and lace up your ankle. I bought them from Primark, who only have a location in Boston and the rest are in the UK. Even though the colors in this outfit are fairly light, I thought the black shoes would make it more of an evening outfit. Let me know if you like these shoes with it!

VSCO Cam-1-10.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-19.jpg

VSCO Cam-1-22.jpg

I did some simple accessorizing for this outfit, since this is a “beach to date night” kind of look. I wore my reflective Aviators from Nordstrom, my holographic crystal necklace from Etsy, and my little infinity ring from Tiffany’s.

Comment down below if you like what I put together or what you think about this gorgeous lookout spot by the ocean! This was definitely a great summer outfit and was super comfy. Hope you all are enjoying your summers and look out for a post soon about my trip to the U.S. Open in Huntington Beach! ❤

Shop With Me! A Try On Haul

Hey everyone! I love showing you all the best outfits and giving you clothing inspiration. I have thought of a new idea for a post where I can show you all great pieces and not spend tons and tons at one time. So come shop with me and check out what I picked! This day I went to Melrose in the O.C., which is one of my favorite shops ever! I only grabbed a few things but I think they’re perfect for the summer or the transition from summer to fall! Let’s get shopping!

*Also, I’m very sorry for the bad image quality. The lighting was not very good in the dressing rooms, but I hope you can look past that! ❤

VSCO Cam-1-2.jpg

This first piece is  a dress that’s perfect for this sunny weather we’re having! It’s a tan/blush color with a chevron pattern printed on it. It’s off the shoulder so you definitely won’t get too warm in it. The sleeves and upper part of it are loose, flowy, and totally comfortable! Also at the top are a couple of tassels in the same blush color. I loved this detail and is definitely bohemian! I thought the length of it was super flattering as well; it stops above your knee. Overall, I thought this was a fantastic piece and something that could be kept for several summers after!

VSCO Cam-1-3.jpg

This next top is actually something I purchased after trying it on! It is a black striped collared blouse. It has long sleeves but they can be rolled up if you’re going for that style. The back is longer than the front, which I think is very flattering and more comfortable. It also has a large pocket on the front, giving it a laid back “I didn’t try too hard with this” type of look. But the BEST detail on this is the front. Instead of it buttoning all the way down, it laces up with black strings and connects at the collar. This trend is so in style right now and I’m so into it! The strings also have tassels on the end (can you tell I’m loving that as well?) It’s just such a unique piece that you don’t see many places and I know it’ll be perfect for the fall season coming up or for a colder summer night!

By the way I wouldn’t wear this top with those shorts, but you get the idea!

VSCO Cam-1.jpg

This next piece I also ended up purchasing and I am absolutely OBSESSED with it! I know it’s hard to see every detail with this photo, but not to worry! I’m planning on doing an OOTD for it very soon! But let me make a mini description of it for you before that post goes up. This dress is all black and goes all the way to the floor. It is cut shorter on the sides so that it moves in the most beautiful way. It looks as if it’s draped around you, which I think is super feminine and beautiful. It ties at the top around your neck and has a triangle neck line. Also, at the front is a small cutout and is the perfect little detail! Attached to that are strings that can be tied in a bow or even wrapped around your waist. But the main reason why I am so in love with this is because at the end of the strings at your waist and around the neck are little seashells! It’s as if someone made this dress and then went to the beach to add these perfect shells. Can’t wait to show you guys more photos of it!

VSCO Cam-1-4.jpg

Carrying on with this lace trend, I found this gray t-shirt. It’s not any normal t-shirt though. It has a large lace up in the front that ties in a bow at the top. It’s so edgy and gives a grungy vibe! I love simple pieces like this that can be worn as is or that can be made a little girlier through accessories or by curled hair. The sleeves are also rolled which is a nice little touch.

VSCO Cam-1-1.jpg

This next dress was also very flattering and comfortable. It is also a tan/blush color similar to the first off the shoulder dress. But it has a tie dye print which I think is super unique because I’ve never seen tie dye done in this color before. It also has buttons that go a short way down. I wore a black lace bralette underneath that gave some nice detailing along the neckline. This is perfect for the summer when taking a stroll downtown!

That’s it for now! I hope you guys enjoyed this little shopping trip/try on haul. It was really fun for me to collect stuff I thought would be unique and interesting pieces. Let me know which one was your favorite or if you have any questions about Melrose!

June Favorites: T.V. Shows, Makeup, and Summer Inspiration!

Hello everyone! As we are now toward the end of the month of June, I thought I’d share some of my favorites from the month. Usually I focus more on fashion and beauty, but I’d like to expand the scope of this post. I definitely recommend checking out all of these things as they are FANTASTIC! So here they are:

Lost-season1.jpg

I had to put this first in my June Favorites. Now, I know I’m super behind on this, considering this show ended 6 years ago, but better late than never right? Lost is now my new favorite T.V. show for so many reasons. I’ve heard from many people that Lost is a great series, but I never expected to fall in love with every character and be so invested in a series. There are six seasons to Lost and I finished it in a month. If I wasn’t working, I probably would have finished it earlier, lol. I just can’t explain how addicting this show is and how much it makes you think. The creators, producers, and cast put every ounce of their effort into this show and it is so apparent. They show ended so long ago, but I find myself wanting to know more about it. I wish I was older during the time it was on air because I’d be watching it every week! Every season is on Netflix right now if you’d like to get invested in a series and binge watch. Let me warn you: you WILL end up binge watching Lost, so clear your schedule!

Anastasia-Beverly-Hills-Brow-Wiz8.png

My next favorite is a makeup product. This is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. I usually never do anything to my brows except brush them out during my makeup routine. But this little brow crayon is great for everyday or for a more dramatic look. It comes with the crayon and a small brush. It is only 80% pigmented so I went with the Taupe shade. I thought this would be too light for my brows, but it ended up being perfect. So make sure if you go to pick one up that you don’t get a shade that is too dark for you! You can purchase this wherever Anastasia is sold, whether it be Nordstrom, Macy’s, or Sephora. I also love Anastasia’s liquid to matte lipstick! The formula is amazing and the shades are gorgeous. I have a separate post about that here.

IMG_1197.JPG

Cute pool floaties have been quite the trend lately. Naturally, I was dying to try some out. I have the pink donut and the swan. These are honestly so adorable for summer photos and tanning in the pool! I love the designs and colors of these, they really add to the aesthetic of a pool. These are known to be a bit pricey, but we got ours at a significantly lower price off of Amazon! Check it out!

VSCO Cam-1.jpg

I love anything to do with art or design, so recently I taught myself how to write in modern calligraphy! This was such a fun process and I’m definitely still trying to perfect it. It was actually more difficult than I anticipated, but not impossible. I simply looked up tutorials on YouTube or found images of a calligraphy alphabet on Google to practice from. I bought a new calligraphy pen and a bottle of ink from Michael’s craft store. This is such a beautiful way to write and if you’re interested any bit in it, I recommend giving it a shot. The trick is to repeat letters over and over and continue to practice until you’re satisfied with the way your letters look. String them together and you have a beautiful looking word and gorgeous sentences! It is a great skill to learn for invitations, signs, or web design. I used the calligraphy I learned to create my new blog logo! It is on the front page with the little palm tree, let me know how you like it!

VSCO Cam-1-1.jpg

Smoothie bowls. These things are the bomb! I can’t get enough of these things and they’re  a great start to your day. I will blend up some fruit for a smoothie, pour it in a bowl, and top with whatever I’m in the mood for. Usually it’s fruit, granola, and agave nectar. I prefer agave nectar over honey since it does not affect our bee friends. I have a few smoothie bowls that I’ve made up on my Instagram if you’d like ideas on what to make! These are a perfect snack for the summer and such a healthy option!

This is it for my June Favorites! Hope you guys enjoyed or learned about something new to try out! Summer is officially upon us and the heat is finally setting in. Can’t wait for summer adventures and I hope your days are filled with fun in the sun and amazing memories!

Memorable Place to Visit this Summer in Southern California!

Hi everyone! Summer is finally upon us and I couldn’t be more excited! Although we have had some gloomy days, I know the summer heat will be here before we know it. With that comes endless options of summer excursions! Living in California, there are so many memorable places to go for photography or just to hangout with friends. For me, I’ve grown up visiting L.A. once in a while and now that I’m in college, San Diego has offered so many exciting places to go. I thought I’d put together a little list of great places to visit for those of you who live in Southern California or for those who are just here for a vacation! Some of these are my favorite places to go and others I have simply heard about and want to see for myself soon. Enough of my rambling, here’s some places I think you’ll find very interesting and exciting to see!

*Disclaimer: I do not own these photos, they are simply there to give you a visual of each location. 🙂

Getty Museum in Los AngelesGATTY-MUSEUM.jpg

The_J_Paul_Getty_Museum_1721973.jpg

This is one of my absolute favorite places to go in L.A. The Getty Museum is a well known art museum. The architecture is modern and totally gorgeous! You take a tram up the mountain to reach these buildings. There are beautiful gardens here as well, as you can see in the top photo. If you’re ever in L.A. and if you’re an art junky, definitely check this place out! A similar place to this is The Griffith Observatory, which is a scientific museum that overlooks Los Angeles. Another one of my favorites!

Paul Smith pink wall and Angel Wings wall in Los Angeles336681979_728d39ac45_b.jpg

tumblr_n5vuf4scrd1sxnfcxo1_1280.jpg

If you’re an avid Instagrammer, you’re going to love these next two places in L.A.! The first is one I’ve been to myself and that’s the pink wall from the Paul Smith store (yes, I admit I’m very basic lol). But who can blame me and the thousands of girls who use this wall for Insta everyday? This big pink wall makes for a cool simple background and in my opinion, is very artistic! Next is the angel wings in Beverly Grove. I haven’t been here yet, but you can bet I’ll go one day soon! This gorgeous street art by Colette Miller is perfect to stand in front of to look like you sprouted beautiful wings. Street art can be so beautiful, so this will make for a great photo and an even better memory!

Little Italy Farmer’s Market in San Diegoimage_54.jpeg

It was a little hard to find a decent photo for this event, but basically the Farmer’s Market is located in Little Italy and is a great little event to go to in the morning. It happens every Saturday, without fail all year! You can walk around and check out all the food, art, and handmade items. It covers a couple of streets and there are usually a lot of people that attend. It’s one of my favorite things to do on a weekend in San Diego. Another thing to make sure and do in San Diego is stop by Better Buzz Coffee on your way to or from the Farmer’s Market. This is probably some of the best coffee I’ve ever had and I’ve mentioned it multiple times on this blog. Check out a full post here about it!

Thousand Steps Beach in Laguna Beacho.jpg

maxresdefault.jpg

This beach in Laguna is absolutely stunning. It’s definitely one of my favorite beaches in Orange County. Some beaches along this coast have natural pools where you can swim and enjoy the scenery. Thousand Steps though, has a reputation for being either difficult to find and definitely more challenging to get to. The entrance is a little difficult to find, but it is right across from the Laguna Hospital. Stairs lead down to the beach, but be aware, you will be walking for quite a bit! Getting down is simple, but be prepared for a long climb back up! It’s great exercise and the beach is well worth it! Check out this little slice of paradise if you’re ever in Laguna Beach!

Catalina Island & Balboa Island (Newport Beach)carnival-mexico-port-catalina-island-1.jpg

balboa-island-ferry.jpg

First off, Catalina Island is off the coast of Southern California. I believe it is considered a part of Los Angeles county. I wouldn’t recommend spending more than a day or two on this island, since it can get a little boring. You take a boat ride to this island, which takes about a couple hours. There is shopping and food once you get to the island as well as bike riding, kayaking, and other water related activities. You can even just tan on the beach if you want to relax. It’s a gorgeous little spot to explore and very similar to the rest of Southern California. Fun fact: there are a lot of buffalo on this island from a movie that was shot there. They were left on the island when the movie was completed.

The next photo shows Balboa Island. Technically, it is a peninsula, but it is located off of Newport Beach in Orange County. This is similar to Catalina in that it is a nice getaway for a day. You take a ferry across to get to the peninsula which takes about five minutes. There is a small ferris wheel  when you get there that is great for kids (or for fun loving adults) and an arcade. There is a gorgeous beach here and beautiful homes. There are places where you can rent bike carts to ride around in (I don’t know the technically term for them, so we’ll just call them bike carts lol). These seat four people and are powered by pedaling. Exploring Balboa Island is a great way to spend a summer day!

I hope you guys enjoyed this list and I hope it gave you some ideas if you’re ever in the area! I love spending summers here and there are SO many other places to go that are not listed here. If you’re a Californian, let me know your favorite places to go in the summer! Or if you’ve been to these places I’ve mentioned, what do you think about them? I’d love to hear from you guys! xx

Black Backless Dress

d

Hey guys! Hope you’ve been having a fantastic week! I’ve been loving this little black dress so much. It’s completely backless with a small strand of fabric going from shoulder to shoulder. The fact that it’s backless made it perfect for a warm day, even though it’s black and has long sleeves. The sleeves flare out and make the most lovely, flowy shape. I have this beautiful cream bralette, which I got from Pink (discounted price since I worked there, yay!) But I thought it would be perfect for underneath this dress since I needed to wear some sort of bra or bralette.

It has a scoop neck, so I threw on my usual holographic crystal necklace. The blue color looked great with the black and gave the outfit a little brightness. I wore my Rainbow sandals with this since I’d be walking around school for half the day and wanted to be comfy. If I wear this around at night, I’ll wear some black ankle boots. I absolutely love dresses like this that can be dressed up or down for day and night events.

It was a great outfit for my short school day! I got this at Girl Cave, which is a small boutique in the mall back home. There’s nothing like a little black dress!

Naked 3 Evening Makeup Tutorial

This makeup tutorial is centered around the Naked 3 palette. I’ve been using this palette so much, but I think it’s just perfect for the summer. It’s not too heavy and has the most gorgeous pinks. For this, I used Strange (highlight), Limit and Buzz (lid), and Factory (crease and bottom lash line). This look is super great for the evenings since it has a little darkness to it and also some shimmer. I’d love to wear this out at dinner for a date night. So let’s get right on into this tutorial! eyeshadow 1. Above are all the colors I used (sorry if it’s a little difficult to read). So I started with my eye primer potion from Urban Decay. I applied one drop of it for each eye. You really don’t need too much of this stuff to cover your whole lid! DSCN0727 2. Next, I took Limit and Buzz (mixed together) and brushed them over my lid. They’re some of the most beautiful pinks in the palette and I think they’re great start off an entire makeup look. I will also sometimes take MAC’s Fix+ onto a brush and then use Buzz if I want a more pigmented color. But for this, I wanted to keep it subtle. I used my Sephora blending shadow brush to apply this. DSCN0730 3. I then took my Sephora Pro Crease brush (I just got this and I’ve been absolutely loving it!) and went into the dark shade Factory. I applied this into my crease and blended it out. In order to get something perfectly blended, it usually takes quite a lot of back and forth motion with the brush. DSCN0746 4. I then took my Sephora precision shadow brush and loaded it with the shade Strange. I layered it on top of my lid where Limit and Buzz are. I wanted my eyes to be a little brighter so I knew this almost white color would help. DSCN0750 5. Using this same brush and a little bit of the fluffy crease brush, I took Strange and popped that under my brow for a highlight. I made sure all of this was perfectly blended together with the crease brush. I then put Strange in my inner corners also to add as a highlight. On my lower lash line I put in Factory with a smudge brush. (For this step I basically focused on highlighting and detailing with the lower lash line). DSCN0760 6. Now comes the tricky part. Winged eyeliner…always a hassle. But it always looks nice in the end so its worth it! I use the Stila waterproof eyeliner. It’s probably the best eyeliner I’ve bought. I start at the middle of my lid and bring the line out to the edge. I try to make a very thin line and build up as I like. I then face the point of the pen out and bring in my wing. I know most people flick out the wing, but I find I have a better time bringing it in rather than out. Image7. Last thing to do was to apply some mascara. Lately I’ve been using this one from Clinique. I actually don’t know where this is from or even if they still offer it, I’ve had this one for quite some time. I simply put a couple coats of this on my top lashes and one on my bottom lashes. After I curled my lashes, the look was finished! I don’t apply fake lashes, but if you’re going for a more dramatic look, those would work just fine! DSCN0795So this is the finished look, I hope you guys enjoy! The lighting isn’t amazing in these photos, but I hope you all can still see the different shades. Let me know if you have any advice about taking these kinds of makeup shots or ways to enhance the way your photos look. I’d love to learn more and get some feedback!DSCN0809DSCN0810
